Cycles APC Bike Shop

ABOUT CYCLES OF CHANGE APC

Check out our new website at: www.cyclesofchangeapc.org

Cycles of Change APC is a friendly non-profit community bicycle shop which opened in July 2006. It is a collaboration between Cycles of Change and Alameda Point Collaborative (APC), a non-profit which manages housing and services for a 200 unit residential community comprised of 500 formerly homeless adults and families.

We are working together to operate a sustainable bicycle center which is a place for bicycles and people to come together in order to help strengthen the community of the East Bay. The shop’s mission is to empower local communities by offering outstanding recycled bicycle services in a safe, thriving and creative community space.

SALES

The shop offers refurbished bicycle sales which support its earn-a-bike program, community shop hours with tools and expert mechanic advice, and ride programs. There are presently over 250 bicycles available for sale including:

DONATIONS

Cycles of Change APC serves as a place where you can donate/recycle your old bikes and parts. In fact, every bike that we have has been donated by someone like you! We are especially in need of useable bikes that can be earned by one of our youth or adult volunteers, or resold to support our operating expenses.

Donations can be dropped off whenever the shop is open. Just bring them into the shop. If you would like to donate when the shop is closed, you can bring donations to the APC offices across the street from the shop at 677 W. Ranger Avenue, M-F 10-5pm.

All donations are tax-deductible. Ask for a donation receipt at the time of donating.

Please DO NOT LEAVE DONATIONS anywhere around the shop or around APC. Check all donations in with an APC staff person.
Thanks!

LOCATION

We are located in Alameda in the middle of a large warehouse on Alameda Point (west Alameda, former Naval Base). We are across the street from the APC offices at 677 W. Ranger Avenue. You can easily spot the shop by the 40-50 wheels that are hanging on the fence outside the entrance. To find the shop, go through the big wooden “barn” attached to the warehouse and into the middle of the warehouse.
